MAGDALENA
Magdalena, a Palomino Quarter Horse. Maggie Pie is 8 (11/2007) and is one sweet riding mare. This girl is so smooth, her owner, my husband James, refers to her as his Escalade.
Mags had issues when we first met her and my James fell in love with her. We brought her home and worked through the head and ear thing. You could raise your hand and she would duck. Evidently she had been beat in the head and upper neck area quite a bit. Maggie is a big 15.2 hand Dappled Palomino with a great disposition BUT she is nervous. We will continue to work on her nerves, she does have a wicked scar and that could explain her nerves, but we will never know for sure...
Maggie is a pusher when saddled and gets pushed around when she is in the pasture. It upsets me to see her get bit, kicked at and run off from her feed by everyone else, including the pony so Mags gets special treatment and gets a paddock all to herself.
Magdalena darkens to an almost golden chocolate color when out of the sun but her coat fades fast in the UV rays of summer.
